We now have a bunch of Traditional Zak Longboard Shapes on our racks in store ( SHOP NOW )!!! This model (pictured) is part of a collaboration we have done with Kane Tankard of Oceanfoam. A traditional longboard or log shape that has been specially designed for smooth turning, stable walking and maximum hangtime up front. Featuring a fairly flat rocker through the front 3/4 of the board for exceptional glide and trim, with a reasonable amount of kick through the tail. This tail rocker is to help you redirect it with ease and allow the board to lock-in to the curl seamlessly on the nose.
Finely tapered, yet soft rails are the name of the game on this model. This rail shape helps keep this shape lively and responsive though turns, as well as making you more nimble to allow for changes in wave speed. Plenty of foam has been kept by the stringer, so paddle power and glide wont be compromised. The bottom contour is a light single concave under the nose that flattens to a fairly neutral middle section with a moderate roll through the tail block.
All of our own models at Zak Surfboards are shaped, glassed and finished locally here in Victoria. We use only the highest quality materials to construct our boards. These traditional Zak Longboard Shapes are glassed reasonably heavy to assist in glide and trim with a wet rubbed finish coat.
