These Mini Mal shapes are a great choice for those of you that want more paddle power and glide, but don’t want to overly sacrifice authority over the board and Perfect if you that want more paddle power and glide, but don’t want to sacrifice authority and maneuverability. These have a great combination of forgiving & performance elements. Expertly balanced so that you won’t feel like you are on a tanker. On the flip side you also won’t feel that you are lacking the flotation and stability you would expect in boards this size.
These Zak Mini Mal shapes feature a nice, smooth, medium rocker for seamless carving turns on rail. There is a touch of flip in the last few inches of the nose to help prevent catching or nosediving on steeper waves, late take offs and tighter turns.
The bottom contour on these Mini Mal Shapes are a single concave that starts up in the nose, continuing right through to the middle of the board. From there the single concave then blends into a double concave. This double then runs through the fins and then fades into a vee out the last 6 inches of the tail. All of this combines to give the Zak Mini Mal a great combination of speed, lift and liveliness. The concave bottom helps the board to get up and plane with ease on weaker, mushy, flatter faced waves. The double concave into vee out of the tail makes it easier to get the board over on to its rail and keep it there through turns.
We have these Zak Mini Mal shapes on our racks with both rounded-square and round tails. The square tail being a little faster and having a touch more drive. The round tail version is a little smoother and more controlled through turns. Come in store and check them out our browse these and the rest of our collection online ( SHOP NOW ).
